The top of the 2026 board rewards conviction, not caution. Five of the first seven off the board by ADP are running backs, which means the WR runs and the RB scarcity both hit earlier than most people plan for. Attack this draft by knowing exactly which tier you're buying in each round instead of reacting to the guy next to you.

Rounds 1-2: Take the Back

Gibbs and Bijan share the 1.02, and McCaffrey, Taylor, Achane and Chase Brown round out an RB-dense first. If you pick inside the top five, take the back and don't overthink it. Nacua, Chase, JSN and St. Brown are the WR anchors if the board pushes a receiver to you, but the smart play from the turn is one elite RB then a second before the position collapses.

Rounds 4-5: The RB Bridge

The middle rounds are where your RB depth gets built or breaks. Javonte Williams, Etienne, Bucky Irving and Swift are startable backs living in Round 4, and Judkins, Tuten and Henderson give the fourth round of RBs some upside in Round 5. Rounds 9-11: Upside Shots

By Round 9 you're drafting for a spike week, not a floor. Deebo, Xavier Worthy and Jordan Addison are boom receivers, and Kyle Monangai (9.04) and Jacory Croskey-Merritt (10.05) are backs one snap from real touches. If you punted QB, Mahomes at 9.01 and Herbert at 9.11 are absurd values on skill alone.
